This is a rare and fabulous original 18th century gold ring. With a navette-shaped front and bright-cut decoration, it has the motif of a gentleman standing next to an urn on a pedestal. This motif is quite rare, frequently this type of jewellery depict a weeping lady.
The ring is in excellent condition for age, with only expected wear. The ring is unaltered and original, which is rare. The colours are good, which is also unusual.
The gold will be around 14-15ct which was common around this time.
There is an inscription to the back - "Joseph Else Ob 9 March 1780 Aet 49".
The ring size is K 1/2. The ring is generally of a good size, the length of the navette-shaped front is 3.2cm.
