How John Lennon's confessional song became the title for a
silly James Bond spoof I really don't know. The funny thing is, it works both
ways--as a young man's personal statement about learning to open up to others,
and as the frantic theme for an exotic espionage chase comedy starring those
lovable mop-tops (this time in color). Like A Hard Day's Night, only the first
"side" of this album actually contains songs from the movie--the
biggest hits being the eponymous cry for assistance and "Ticket to
Ride." But part 2 has a few nice tunes as well, like "It's Only
Love," "I've Just Seen a Face," and a little ditty called
"Yesterday." And I always love it when they do an all-out screamer
like "Dizzy Miss Lizzy," which sounds like John's raucous answer to
Paul's "Kansas City/Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey" vocal on Beatles for Sale. Of
course, it's essential--as are all the Beatles' soundtracks (all the Beatles'
albums), with the possible exception of Yellow Submarine.

Love is an unprecedented approach to the Beatles' catalog,
featuring wildly alternative mixes and "mash-ups," the combining of
two or more Beatles tunes mixed together for a wholly unique song.
The project came about when Paul and Ringo, along with Yoko
Ono Lennon and Olivia Harrison, approached legendary producer Sir George Martin
about making experimental mixes from their master tapes. Actually, Martin says
that the concept was born several years before when George Harrison and Guy
Laliberte, the founder of Cirque du Soleil, began to explore the possibilities
of a collaboration between Cirque du Soleil and the Beatles. Out of that
vision, Love was born. Martin and his son, Giles, have created a completely
unique soundscape. Says Martin: "My brief was to create a soundscape of
around one and a half hour's length using any sound I needed from the original
Beatles multi-track recordings. It was an offer one could hardly refuse."
Opinions will no doubt vary as to the validity of these new
mixes. Purists may be offended. Those thirsting for new Beatles material may be
thrilled. One thing's for certain: Love will be among the most talked about
releases in many years.
"This album puts the Beatles back together again,
because suddenly there's John and George with me and Ringo," said Paul
McCartney. "It's kind of magical."

Quentin Tarantino SECTION STARTS WITH - Pulp Fiction Soundtrack 180 gram limited edition LP
180 Gram Vinyl! Original Soundtrack to Quentin Tarantino's Oscar Award-Winning Film!
American Rock 'N' Roll, Surf Music, Pop, and Soul!
Includes Urge Overkill's Cover of Neil Diamond's "Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon!"
One of the most defining cinematic moments of the mid 1990s was when the ‘counter-culture’ film Pulp Fiction was released! Pulp Fiction is the killer soundtrack which includes several slabs of vinyl perfection like Kool & The Gang’s dynamite Jungle Boogie, Al Green’s sensual Let’s Stay Together and Dusty Springfield’s gospel-like classic Son Of A Preacher Man.
The film contains a mix of American rock and roll, surf music, pop and soul. The soundtrack is equally untraditional, consisting of nine songs from the movie, four tracks of dialogue snippets followed by a song, and three tracks of dialogue alone. The album reached No. 21 on the Billboard 200 and the single, Urge Overkill's cover of the Neil Diamond song "Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon" peaked at No. 59.
Tarantino used an eclectic assortment of songs by various artists. Notable songs include Dick Dale's now-iconic rendition of "Misirlou", which is played during the opening credits. Tarantino chose surf music for the basic score of the film because, "it just seems like rock 'n' roll Ennio Morricone music, rock 'n' roll spaghetti Western music." In addition to the surf-rock rendition of "Misirlou", other notable songs include "Flowers on the Wall" by the Statler Brothers and "Bustin' Surfboards" by The Tornadoes, from 1962, which had been one of the first instrumental surf songs to hit the United States music charts after notables such as "Walk--Don't Run" by the Ventures.
The Orange County Register described why the soundtrack of Pulp Fiction stood out from all the others: "Unlike so many soundtracks, which just seem to be repositories for stray songs by hit acts regardless of whether they fit the film's mood, Tarantino's use of music in Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction exploded with a brash, Technicolor, pop-culture intensity that mirrored the stories he was telling."
"The soundtrack to Quentin Tarantino's darkly funny crime classic Pulp Fiction manages to re-create the film's wildly careening sense of style, violence, and humor by concentrating on the surf music that comprises the bulk of the movie's incidental music and adding a few sexy oldies integral to the film's story ('Let's Stay Together,' 'Son of a Preacher Man,' 'You Never Can Tell'). Of course, the inclusion of dialogue and Urge Overkill's seductive cover of Neil Diamond's 'Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon' doesn't hurt either." - Stephen Thomas Erlewine, allmusic

Quentin Tarantino - The Hateful Eight Soundtrack 180 GRAM DOUBLE LIMITED EDITION LP SET
The Absolute Sound Top New Vinyl Release of 2016!
180g Vinyl Double LP Soundtrack To 2015 Film!
The Hateful Eight is the 8th film by two-time Academy Award winner Quentin Tarantino, and the first time he has made a film with a dedicated score. Who better to help create and coordinate his first dedicated score than the legendary film composer and Academy Award winner, Ennio Morricone? Tarantino has used Morricone pieces in each of his most recent six films, including Django Unchained and Inglorious Basterds. The Hateful Eight marks the first time the two have collaborated throughout the production of the film to create a complete picture: bringing together the sounds, sights, and passionate grit to fabricate a truly well rounded piece of smart art. Morricone started writing music at the age of six and has been composing critically acclaimed film scores since the 1960s when his career was launched after composing the score to The Man with No Name trilogy starring Clint Eastwood. Morricone established himself as the master of spaghetti western scores and later on began working in all genres of film with directors such as Franco Zeffirelli, Federico Felini, Roman Polanski, and Roland Joffe putting him on par with the major composers and establishing him as one of the all-time greats, composing soundtracks for over 400 film and TV projects. He has made his mark on film by blending jazz, folk, blues, funk, and classical music to make for brilliantly simple scores that set him apart from the rest.
In Tarantino's tradition of not confining his soundtrack selections to space or time periods, the soundtrack also features songs from Roy Orbison, David Hess, and The White Stripes to round everything out. Hateful Eight is the most sweeping and narrative soundtrack Tarantino has released yet, and is sure to become a classic.
"The maestro himself conducted the Czech National Symphony Orchestra in a recording session at Abbey Road, presented here with a sound and mix that simply could not be better." - Mark Milano, The Absolute Sound, 4/5 Music, 4.5/5 Sonics

Soundtrack Album To 2016 Film On Double LP! Features Great 1980's Music From The Cars, Dire Straits, Pete Townshend, ZZ Top & More!
The movie contains many more period appropriate songs than could be included on the double LP. However, the Official Soundtrack album does not disappoint with music from Van Halen, Dire Straits, The Cars, Blondie, ZZ Top, Cheap Trick, Hot Chocolate, Pete Townshend and more!
"Richard Linklater cares about the music in his films, with "School Of Rock," "Boyhood," and "Dazed and Confused" in particular showing a strong commitment to a carefully curated soundtrack. But what you might not know is how much of a stickler the director is for ensuring the song choices are not anachronistic — for his movies, or anybody else’s.
""If I know a song came out a year later than the time when a film is set, f— you, you just lost me. You can’t approach a period film saying, ‘Oh, who’s going to care?’ No, no! I’m doing it for that one person who does care. Because they’re out there. I’m that person. If you’re going to be fast and loose with that, I don’t trust you on anything. You at least have to try," he told The Toronto Star. "Even way back when I did ‘Dazed and Confused’ (set in 1976), I was trying to get a Thin Lizzy song for it, ‘The Boys Are Back In Town.’ But that didn’t come out until June 4 and (the movie setting) was May 28! I went, ‘I can’t use it, I can’t use it!’ "
"Well, the director is never short of music he can use, and that’s certainly true for his "Everybody Wants Some!!"" - indiewire

black vinyl!
Hunter S. Thompson's weird and hallucinatory book Fear and
Loathing in Las Vegas was in 1998 translated to the screen by director Terry
Gilliam, and stars Johnny Depp and Benicio del Toro as Raoul Duke and Dr.
Gonzo. The film details the duo's journey through Las Vegas as their initial
journalistic intentions devolve into an exploration of the city under the
influence of psychoactive substances. The music is perfectly fitting in the
psychedelic story of the movie. It contains songs used in the film with sound
bites of the film before each song.
The psychedelic and classic rock songs on the soundtrack
include songs from Big Brother and the Holding Company, Jefferson Airplane, Bob
Dylan, Buffalo Springfield, and the Dead Kennedys. The movie Fear and Loathing
in Las Vegas was a financial failure, but later gained a cult following and was
eventually included in many "best of" movie lists.
The 21st anniversary Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas edition is
available for the first time on vinyl, as a limited individually numbered
edition of 2,500 copies pressed on "Bat Country" black vinyl. This
release got a laser etched D-side and secret inscriptions in the run-out
grooves. Besides, it contains an exclusive fold-out movie poster.

John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band Eddie and the Cruisers Soundtrack Numbered Limited Edition 180 GRAM LP - Motion Picture Soundtrack Released on Numbered Limited Edition 180g Pure Virgin Vinyl LP!
Specially Remastered for This LP by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio!
THIS AUDIO FIDELITY TITLE IS BRAND NEW BUT DOES NOT COME TRADITIONALLY SEALED WITH TIGHT PLASTIC WRAP. THEY COME WITH A PLASTIC OPEN PROTECTIVE WRAP.
Eddie and the Cruisers is a 1983 American film directed by Martin Davidson based on the novel by P.F. Kluge. The story concerns the mysterious death of a fictional '60s rock star. The film received mixed reviews, did not do well at the box office and was pulled from theaters after three weeks.
After successful screenings on HBO in 1984, the album suddenly climbed the charts, going quadruple platinum. Nine months after the film was released in theaters, the main song in the film, "On the Dark Side," was the number one song in the country on Billboard's Mainstream, Rock, and Heatseeker charts; and #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Another single from the film, "Tender Years," peaked at #31 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Cafferty was hired to write a few songs for the film, but he did such a good job of capturing the feeling of the 1960s and 1980s that Davidson asked him to score the entire film. Only Michael "Tunes" Antunes, the tenor saxophone player for the Beaver Brown Band, and Helen Schneider were professional musicians in the cast.
"There was a year's delay before this film, which concerns the mysterious death of a fictional '60s rock star, took off via video and cable TV, but when it did, the soundtrack album, featuring such songs as 'On the Dark Side' and 'Tender Years' by John Cafferty & the Beaver Brown Band, took off with it..." - William Ruhlmann, allmusic
